It does not determine which products are reviewed, and it does not determine the conclusions.
Products are evaluated the same way whether or not an affiliate program exists for them. You will find products reviewed on this site that I do not recommend, including some that pay commissions.

Which programs
This site participates in affiliate programs operated by third-party networks. When you click an affiliate link, the network may set a cookie to attribute a resulting purchase to this site.
I do not receive your name, address, payment details, or any other personal information from these transactions — only whether a sale occurred and the commission amount.
Why this page exists
United States Federal Trade Commission regulations require clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections between an endorser and a seller. This page, together with the disclosure at the top of each article, is how that requirement is met.
It is also simply how I would want to be treated as a reader.
